Suit Double Breasted Grey Glen Plaid Sky Overcheck
Made by hand in Italy, our jackets feature handmade armholes, collars, linings and buttonholes, with a full and floating canvas. Constructed with a subtle spalla camicia sleeve head as part of an entirely un-padded shoulder, with unfinished sleeves to be altered to your specifications. Our double breasted suits feature a straight lapel tapering gently into a curved mitred closure, giving a distinctive thickness and presence to the lapel. Our trouser block has a single pleat, side tabs, mid-to-high rise and a gently tapered leg with plenty of inlay, left unfinished.
As the woolen industry moves further away from superfine yarns, the notion of origin has become increasingly important, as it's this baseline detail which largely gives a particular wool it's flavour. Whilst Italian and British yarns have been rediscovered and better appreciated for their rugged characteristics, this yarn is from further afield, sourced from the Falklands Islands. Spun and woven by Zegna in Biella, it's unique in its body and cleanliness. The windy and cool atmosphere produces fleeces that are finer than their coarser European equivalents but not as fine as an Australian merino.
This 'Island Fleece' bunch is the spearhead of the yarns usage and we are proud to present our double breasted silhouette in this elegant and robust cloth, which holds the subtle check beautifully. Ideal for pairing with pale shirts and textured ties, it's breathable enough for an urban Autumn, yet with enough heft to keep a decent crease and remain wearable into Winter.
