Burgundy Cordovan Bradbourne Loafers
Crockett & Jones have produced some of Northampton's finest shoes since 1879, and we are proud to have developed our full strap Bradbourne loafers in Burgundy Cordovan.
Made of the finest quality Shell Cordovan from Horween Leathers, Chicago, we are delighted to add these beautiful burgundy loafers to our growing range of footwear. Produced by skilled leather artisans using shell hides, the clean, round lines of this full strap loafer are elevated by the durable leathers dark brown and deep maroon tones.
A 5th generation family-owned business founded in 1905, Horween Leathers has developed hides in the same location for almost a century.
'Shell' Cordovan refers to a fibrous layer found in a horses' hindquarters, which is then hand cut, shaved, oiled and tanned over a six month period. Finally, the leather is stained and hand polished to give the unique Cordovan shine.
Our loafer last is the 72, first developed in the 1980's, which features a low vamp, round toe, low toe profile and reduced toe-spring. They are exactly what we look for in a loafer. Louche and understated, the shoes are formal enough to pair with tailoring but casual enough to sit comfortably with our full range of trousers, from denim to chinos.
